World’s best specialized hospitals 2025: top healthcare institutions revealed

The World’s Best Specialized Hospitals 2025 ranking by Newsweek has identified the top healthcare institutions worldwide, showcasing leaders in various medical specialties.

Top-ranked hospitals around the world

The United States continues to dominate the world stage, with Mayo Clinic in Rochester taking the number one ranking in six specialties. It’s joined by other esteemed company: Cleveland Clinic and Johns Hopkins Hospital are world-renowned for their pioneering work in heart and cancer treatments, respectively. Rounding out the esteemed group are Massachusetts General Hospital and Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, also world-class and offering wide-ranging specialized care.

In Europe, Germany leads the table with Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, enjoying the second-best ranking in neurology and neurosurgery, confirming its status as one of the world’s leading research and treatment centers. France had Hôpital Universitaire Pitié-Salpêtrière in Paris, ranking in the top ten in multiple specialties, everything from cardiology to neurology.

The powerhouse of Asia is home to Asan Medical Center, Seoul, South Korea, which ranked within the top ten hospitals in the world in six fields: oncology, gastroenterology, and others. A short distance away, in Tokyo, Japanese National Cancer Center Hospital was recognized for having the most innovative approach to dealing with cancer. Recognition like this given to Asian countries underlines the fast-growing role of the region within global medicine.
