A donkey warmed the hearts of passers-by and web users with a very sweet reaction to a painting. There, on that wall, two other donkeys are depicted and, although not real, the animal recognized them immediately

A video from Mexico has taken the internet and the world by storm, where a donkey has an amazing-and for many, unexpected-reaction to a mural depicting animals of his own kind. The video has captured one such moment, which, though tender and tinged with a hint of sadness, has reached viewers’ hearts.
This little burro was going down the road in a Mexican village, right behind his owner, when he came to a stop and stared. The simple drawing was of two other donkeys, and apparently this donkey knew who they were.
He moved closer to the wall, as if greeting them or interacting with the painted figures. The donkey rubbed his snout against the mural and seemed to wait for a familiar smell or some other sign from them.
This scene really surprised the local people, who came to witness this behavior of the donkey because such things may never have happened before. The situation amazed the people who had gathered around.

While one cannot know with absolute certainty what the donkey was thinking or trying to tell all the animals in that mural, one thing is plain as day: donkeys are a very intelligent, sensitive creation.
Sweetness, tenderness, and patience are those features that make this breed perfect to take part in the areas of pet therapy, where they manage to transmit their serenity to patients. More than this, donkeys are social animals: they share their lives in groups, form strong bonds with each other, and take great care of one another.
They suffer from stress and loneliness when they are separated from their companions and are always looking for company, even of other species. That may be what this little donkey was doing: trying to get in touch with his lot, reminding us that all animals have their own sensitivities.
It is us who fail, or maybe choose not, to recognize them; we just see them very often as work instruments or simply food.
