New and controversial dog crossbreeds are circulating the internet. One of them caught the attention of users. It is a Chibrador or Labrahuahua/Labrawawa, from the beloved Labrador retriever and Chihuahua breeds

The selective breeding of the dog breeds is based on years, even centuries of crossbreeding and mostly raises a number of controversies. It has always been aimed at rearing the desired animal with the desired characteristics. Most of these are still practiced today, even if not all are in the books, so to say, of the dog breeding organizations.
Recent photos on social media stirred talks in the way of what could be considered a new breed. It has been called names like “Chibrador,” “Lahbrahuahua,” or “Labrawawa,” since it is a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Chihuahua.
Two different sizes, two different evolutions joined nowadays in one medium-small dog, carrying distinctive features of both breeds. In fact, they are those features that have turned these two individual breeds extremely popular and trendy among families.
You can see from some examples that the Chihuahua’s small structure is immediately evident, but the face and expression are more Labrador-like. Whereas with other examples, the body of the dog is strictly a miniature Labrador Retriever.
A short Internet search would show this is not a new crossbreed. Many articles written about the process report that a Chibrador puppy can sell for $1,000 or more.
Sites about dogs have dedicated pages to this new hybrid. Technical sheets for this kind of dog, born from a female Labrador Retriever and a male Chihuahua, can be found. The breeding process is via artificial insemination.
The crossbreeding process is thus far from natural, or even from “unintentional” mating between dogs that are so different from each other. Quite to the contrary, it is a premeditated act-yet another act of coercion in manipulative dog breeding.
With time, we have been witnesses to outrageous changes within breeds so that, by making them more pleasant looking, they lose some of their intrinsic character. Take those brachycephalic dogs whose noses have almost disappeared.
This fascination with changing and controlling everything in a life also touches the aesthetic appearance and health condition of animals. We do not need to create new and disputable hybrids, and that is why this trend is of concern.
