Roborock unveils the saros z70, the first vacuum robot with a robotic arm

Presented at CES 2025, the Saros Z70 by Roborock is not just a vacuum cleaner: thanks to the OmniGrip arm, it tidies up light objects and guarantees complete and intelligent cleaning

At 2025 CES Las Vegas, the annual event showcasing the most advanced technological trends, Roborock, the world’s leading company in intelligent vacuum technology, has introduced its flagship: the Saros Z70. This really groundbreaking robotic vacuum boasts an avant-garde mechanical arm that redefines home cleaning. Besides vacuuming dust and debris, it is able to pick up small items such as socks, tissues, and pet toys.

Unrivaled cleaning with a robotic arm

The very latest Saros Z70 model is equipped with the “OmniGrip” robotic arm, boasting five-axis technology, integrated into an ultra-compact body only 3.1 inches tall. With precision sensors, a camera, and an LED light, the arm detects, analyzes, and manipulates objects weighing up to 0.66 pounds.

Ingenious operation: during the first cleaning, the robot maps the objects present in the environment and locates those that it can move. Later, he returns to collect them, puts them in a specific place previously delimited, and executes an accurate cleaning of the surfaces that were covered. From the Roborock app, the user will be able to choose the type of object to be moved and also define where to place it. Equipped for safety, the appliance has a child lock to prevent accidental start-up and an emergency button to stop the arm at any time.

Uncompromising cleaning performance

Apart from its robotic arm, the Saros Z70 promises high-end cleaning. Equipped with powerful suction, it sucks dirt and dust from every surface, including unreachable corners. It also includes dual anti-tangle brushes and rotating mops for a thorough cleaning cycle. Additionally, it features an automatic mop-lifting system that helps the device avoid carpeted areas.

The new Z70 increases this with added navigation technologies capable of recognizing 108 kinds of obstacles to make detailed maps of space. The sophisticated A.I. gives smooth and effective movements in environments with clutter or complication.

Early reports indicated that the Saros Z70 would arrive in 2025, but an official price was not given. Roborock has also announced two other variants that do not come with the articulated arm but retain the advanced features of the Z70. These two models are set to be available from February, starting at around $1,680.
