At the equator, where the tangential speed is highest, this would lead to an extreme gravitational acceleration, potentially propelling people and objects eastward with great force. The atmosphere and oceans, continuing to move at the same rotational speed, would produce extremely strong winds and a global tsunami wave of unknown proportions.
The situation would be most severe near the equator, where the effect of the rotation’s cessation would be greatest, but even at the poles, there would be no escape. Oceans would shift toward the poles due to increased gravitational effects, causing drastic geographical changes such as large-scale earthquakes and flooding.
No rotation, no magnetic field
