London has been ranked as the world’s best city in the World’s Best Cities 2025 report for a record tenth consecutive year. The study, conducted by consultancy firm Resonance in collaboration with Ipsos, analyzed more than 270 global metropolises using parameters of livability, likability, and prosperity.
London topped out across several categories, placing first in likeability, second in economic prosperity, and third in livability. Its desirability has been sustained because of its superior cultural qualities, dynamic nightlife, and excellent airport connectivity, that make it one of the world’s greatest cities both to live in and to visit.
New York overhauls Paris into second
New York has jumped to second place, overtaking Paris, with the city’s position as a pivotal hub for culture, finance, and innovation. Paris, still leading in tourism with its globally recognized landmarks, shopping, and gastronomy, is now third. Despite this shift, the French capital remains a top destination for attractions and experiences.
Tokyo and Singapore in the top five
Tokyo takes the fourth position, shining as a major cultural and commercial hub with its fine dining and high-tech architecture. Singapore is ranked fifth, for its fantastic food, green areas, and innovative urban design.
Rome comes in sixth place, boasting a two-and-a-half millennia-long history and an incomparable artistic patrimony. Madrid comes in seventh, with a clean record regarding parks and green areas. Barcelona, boasting a Mediterranean climate, peculiar architecture, and a lively nightlife, is eighth.
Berlin ranks ninth, as one of the most alternative-friendly places and bursting with dynamic energy. Sydney rounds off the top ten, where beaches meet sophistication.
A complete worldwide study
This ranking represents the result of a survey that has questioned over 22,000 individuals worldwide, from 30 different countries. The quality of living, job availability, and attractiveness for travelers had all been taken into consideration within this analysis.
